When: Monday, February 5th  10-11:45 am

Have you ever wondered how your favorite pastor or teacher gleans so much from a passage of Scripture?  Do they have a secret line to God that helps them study His Word?  As a matter of fact, they do!  And if Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, you have it too!  The Holy Spirit is your secret line to God who will help you learn what the Bible has to say and how it applies to your life.  With just a little practice, you can also study Scripture inductively by looking at what Scripture says, determining what it means and applying those lessons personally to your life.

This workshop is limited to 8 participants and will be a hands-on exercise in studying a passage of Scripture through the simple steps of inductive Bible study.

Allyson King:

Allyson is Director of Core Ministries here at KGM.  She has a passion for sharing God’s Word with others and over the past 20+ years she has taught students from ages 2-92.  After spending 8 years in Bible Study Fellowship, she has spent the last 15+ years leading women’s groups in the study of Scripture.  Her classes have ranged from small intimate home groups to formal Bible study classes.  Allyson loves sharing what the Lord has taught her—whether lessons from His Word or skills from serving Him.

How to Lead a Bible Study

When: Monday, March 5th  10-11:45 am

The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24

Do you have a feeling God is calling you to lead a Bible study but you have no clue where or how to start? Or have you agreed to lead a study group and now you are asking, “What have I gotten myself into?” Do you feel like you couldn’t possibly know enough Scripture to lead a group?

Rest assured all those thoughts are common for everyone God calls to lead a study. We all feel inferior and ignorant and unworthy to stand in front of others and share God’s Word. Whether you are facilitating a discussion alongside a video teacher or actually doing most of the teaching with a group, it can be quite intimidating as your women are all looking at you!

While this workshop will not show you how to teach a Bible study, it will give you some strategies to help you gain confidence in God’s call and become more comfortable in your role as leader. We’ll discuss why you want to lead a study group, qualifications of a leader, elements of a successful group as well as practical tips on preparation, group interaction and structure.

This hands-on workshop is limited to 8 participants.
