Flourish in the Midst of a Busy Schedule, Ellen Stevens

Life can become so busy and full, (especially during the month of May) that it’s easy to become overwhelmed.   As a wife, mother and working woman, I often face:

  • Demands and needs from my job, family, friends, ministry, church
  • A schedule that seems to operate at break-neck speed

Which causes

  • My heart to grow tired and weary
  • Sometimes wounded or offended
  • At other times, fearful and afraid… Unloved and unappreciated

I’ve learned, from personal experience, that this is when we must run to the One, who alone, is wise.  We must block out time to seek Him afresh.   When operating on a busy, hectic schedule we must be intentional about creating a boundary for 30 minutes; an hour or even more.  No email or texting or social media.  Just me and my Bible, fellowshipping with the Lord.

I can’t explain it, but following my time with Him, I’m a different woman.  My circumstances are the same, but I’m different.  Truly, Jesus restores and heals my soul.  He gives me fresh energy and perspective for the day.

In Jude 20, we are commanded to maintain our lives with God.  “But you beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

“Looking for the mercy…”   Don’t you love that about our Savior?!

Such great mercy Jesus gives us to live, not just an ordinary life, but an extraordinary life!  He will restore your soul and fill you to overflow with His unfailing love.  I stand amazed at ALL He does to help me not just survive, but flourish in the midst of an extremely hectic schedule.  💗
