Summertime!  The first day of summer is June 21st.  But for most women summer starts when school gets out. Do you have plans for your family?

  • Look for ways to celebrate!
  • Don't try to schedule every moment of your time.
  • Plan out 2 or 3 special events each month.
  • These special events don't have to be big.
  • Have family game or movie nights.
  • Take a blanket into your yard at night and look at the stars.
  • Give lots of hugs.
  • Make Memories!!

How our Behavior

Impacts our Children

Father's Day is almost here!  With that in mind, what are our children learning from us each day...  Are we teaching them to honor their earthly fathers?

Our children learn from watching our actions and reactions.  Our decisions to respect, love and submit will significantly impact our children.

  • Do you roll your eyes when your husband speaks?
  • Do you go behind his back and do things he has asked you not to do?

OR

  • Do you praise his good decisions?
  • Are you gracious when he makes bad decisions?
  • Do you honor his authority in front of the kids, disagreeing with him only in private?

Our children are watching.  When we show respect to our husbands, our children will respect them as well.

"A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish woman tears her house down with her own hands."  Proverbs 14:1

Five Ways to Honor

the Imperfect Dad

Aw Father's Day!  To some it is a joyful time to celebrate our hero.  To others who may not have had an A+ Dad, it is a day we wish would hurry and pass.

Don't get me wrong, I love my dad, but no earthly father is perfect.  So, how do we honor and respect him when he didn't live up to our expectations?

We must make a choice to believe God and do what He says.  I strongly encourage you to look up the Scriptures and dig deep into God''s Word for the strength and wisdom to honor your Dad.

  • Forgive him -  Ephesians 4:32
  • Let go of any bitterness - Ephesians 4:22
  • Pray for him -  1 Timothy 2:1
  • Verbally respect and compliment him. Prov 15:1
  • See your dad the way God sees Him.  1 Peter 2:9-17

Let this be our prayer.  "Lord, thank you for the blessing of earthly fathers.  Help us to love and honor them with Your agape love.  Turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers." (Malachi 4:6).  Raise them up to be the leaders of their family and may they be men of integrity who follow hard after You. (Proverbs 20:7).   Thank You Heavenly Father that You are always faithful. You will never leave us, and You always keep Your promises."

Marriage Discipleship

The show created quite a stir from women all over the country wanting to understand Biblical Marriage!

Below is a sprinkling of their notes.

"I recently watched your TLC special & even though I was skeptical (and may have even scoffed!), my husband and I watched the entire show. It really resonated with me and I have committed to being a 'Biblical wife' and honestly, I can say it has changed our family for the better in just the 10 days since watching!  My attitude had gotten very contentious and was negatively impacting the entire family.   I truly believe that God sat us both down together that night to watch the show. I live in extreme northern Maine and do not have access to the kind of support your ministry offers in this and I would love more about this."

"I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your new show...  It helped me see how selfish I've been to my husband. Thank you for including practical advice to help all wives in this area. Would love to learn more!"

"Since seeing the show, I was left.....wanting to know more. I've always known that I wanted something much more for myself, and for my relationship with my husband."

"In a society that gets off by shaming their man and undermining them, I am so happy to see someone honoring, loving and uplifting their man."

May 15th Luncheon Highlights

General Session:

Hearing the Voice of God

Our speaker, Kim Powell, shared from her own life experiences of hearing God speaking His Truth into her heart. Spending time with God will make a difference in your life.   God wants to speak to each of us.   He is a personal God.  He speaks to us through His Word.

  • You have to be in God's Word to hear His Voice.
  • God applies His Word in proportion to our needs.
  • High exposure to God changes everything.
  • Put a harness on your problem and let it draw you closer to God.
  • Take time in your Prayer Room.  Don't leave too soon.
  • Set a fort around your Quiet Time.
  • Listen to God's Word before the world's distractions.
