Forgiveness: Big Hurt, Bigger God

SPEAKER: Debbie W. Wilson

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done” (Genesis 50:20 NIV).

Join us as Debbie shares from her new book, Big Hurt, Bigger God. Forgiveness is often misunderstood as excusing, forgetting, or pretending everything is fine. Discover what Scripture really teaches about forgiveness and how it becomes a pathway to peace, healing, and emotional freedom.

Meet Debbie

Debbie W. Wilson is an ordinary woman who has experienced an extraordinary God. Drawing from her personal walk with Christ, twenty-four years as a Christian counselor, and decades as a Bible teacher, Debbie speaks and writes to help women discover relevant faith.

She and her husband, Larry, founded Lighthouse Ministries in 1991. They, along with their two grown children and two standard poodles, enjoy calling North Carolina home. Share her journey to refreshing faith at her blog DebbieWwilson.com.

The Wonder of Christmas: A New Look at a Familiar Story

SPEAKER: Tara Furman

Description coming soon!

Meet Tara

As KGM’s President, she also helps set vision for the nonprofit’s monthly ladies’ luncheons as well as its annual women’s conference and mother/daughter retreat. Tara is a member of the Advanced Writers Speakers Association (AWSA) and has published multiple prayer journals and Bible studies in addition to a book on marriage entitled “The 7 Day Challenge.” Before founding KGM, she spent 14 years involved in the international organization of Bible Study Fellowship.

An engaging and relevant speaker, Tara believes in the inerrancy of Scripture and its applicability to lives today. Her messages are personal and apply Scripture to topics that resonate with women, making her a sought-after speaker who is often invited back.

Tara grew up in Cary, NC where she married her high school sweetheart.  She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Tara believes knowing God in the messiness of everyday life will forever change a woman’s life.  It’s certainly changed her life!

Her favorite color is PINK or any bright happy color. She is obsessed with organizing closets, family time and politics.

Some of Tara’s favorite things: coffee time with Jesus in the early morning; going to agood movie; watching sunrises or sunsets; sitting on the beach under an umbrella reading a good book.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Anything but denim. This is a private club and we want to be good stewards by adhering to their dress code.

What if the price of the event exceeds my budget?

Contact us for information regarding financial scholarships.

Will I feel awkward walking in if I’m coming by myself?

Absolutely NOT! We learned from the Focus Group that we needed to be more intentional with people who are attending for the first time. Taking their advice, we have made adjustments so that women coming alone – for the first time – will feel expected and welcomed!

Why is it hosted at a Country Club and not a church?
One of our goals is to reach ALL women – regardless of denomination. We are concerned that if we have it in a denominational location – it will become a denominational event.
The focus group told us they LIKED coming to this location each month. They did not feel like it was a threatening environment, but enjoyed treating themselves.
