How to Sow Simple Seeds of Faith

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:6

This month we celebrated the very women who gave us life, our dear mothers. But May also gives us the opportunity to celebrate the women who have sowed and planted ‘seeds of faith’ in our lives – the women who have gone the extra mile on our behalves so that our roots could grow deep in Christ.

Maybe these women:

  • Led you to saving faith in Christ.
  • Encouraged you to go to church or become involved in a Bible study.
  • Believed in you when you didn’t believe in yourself.
  • Lived their lives in such a way that you wanted to know their God.
  • Discipled you in your walk with Jesus
  • Mentored you in your calling.

Two easy ways to honor these women:

  1. Send a note. Express your gratitude by thanking them for believing in you and for taking the time to encourage your faith walk.
  2. Commit to planting seeds in the lives of others. Intentionally connect with and encourage the women God lays on your heart. Or, whomever He brings to your path, share faith seeds.

It’s been my experience that the very person God places in front of me is someone who needs to hear a Scripture or a word of encouragement from what I read that very morning in my quiet time.

Never worry about what you’re going to say, just be available. God is faithful. He will supply ‘the seed’ He wants for us to plant or water. We do our part by sharing what God leads us to share. In doing so, we are being ONE WOMAN in another’s life. And as we do, He is the One who will miraculously make the seeds grow.
