Daniel 2:20-21

Praise the name of God forever and ever; For He alone has all wisdom and power.
He determines the course of world events;
He removes kings and sets others on the throne.

We are living in historic times.  A pivotal point in history.

But I’m concerned people are not seeing the times through spiritual eyes.

I’m witnessing a lack of dialogue for fear of the hard, confrontational conversations.   We’re afraid of stating our beliefs for fear of offending the other.   We were created for community, but are losing it in any authentic or meaningful way.

I have also witnessed people grasping to make sense of our changing times.   Trying to find answers through human reason.   Trying to make sense of things in the natural world through our natural eyes and human understanding.  But this only leads to fear for the believer and unbeliever alike.

God often uses changing historical times to wake His people up.  To compel His people to repent and seek His face.  And to stand in the gap for our generation. (vote)

Today is our generation’s “such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

If not us who are called by His name, then who?   Ours is not to panic or worry or become unnerved by what looks hopeless.   Our action is to pray for repentance, trust that God is who He says He is.  He is in control of what He says He’s in control of.    We stand in the gap by exercising our God-given gift to vote.

Then we are to watch and see how He shows up in our historic and unique time in History.
