Jeremiah 9:23-24
Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this:  that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord…”

Last week I shared my new woman crush on a woman named Deborah from Judges 4-5.  There’s very little written about her within the Bible, but as my team and I began to dig into the intricacies of her life, we uncovered a very interesting woman with a compelling story.

In fact, Deborah is the topic and inspiration of my message at the August Luncheon!

A strong alpha woman, history records show Deborah was both a prophetess and a judge.   More notably, Deborah is the only judge [a woman at that!] to hold the distinction of both prophet and judge.   Other character traits:

  • Deborah didn’t run from conflict or uncomfortable conversations, she faced them head on.
  • Deborah was not obsessed with what others thought her.  She lived for an audience of One…
  • Deborah was strong and decisive.  (Oh how I can belabor a decision!)
  • Deborah inspired and influenced others to know God and to obey Him.
  • Deborah lived with the reality, when one else did so,  that God was real… and that one day she’d have to answer to Him.  (As we all will.)

As I have studied the life of this fascinating woman, the secret to her exceptional presence goes back to fundamental basics of the Christian faith.  Do you want to know her secret to living differently from the world around her?  The secret to her appeal, influence and inspiration to others?

It was the time she spent behind closed doors developing her relationship with God.  Listening to His voice and obeying as best she understood.

Her obedience produced a ripple effect in the lives of others; and ultimately a nation.

God wants our lives to produce the same kind of ripple effect in others.  Each of us is called to the mission field.  Our mission field is not necessarily Africa or Asia, but it’s the ground beneath our own two feet:  our families, our schools, our business’, our neighborhoods, churches and communities.    The world you inhabit – this is where God desires for you to make a difference for Him, just as Deborah did.

To hear more, join me Thursday, at the KGM Luncheon!

Pre-Registration ends Tuesday, August 22nd.  Walk-in’s welcome!
