The Secret to Finding Your Peace in a Crisis

by | Jul 30, 2022 | Prayer

When a crisis hits, one of the most important things we can do is to pray. The best way to start your prayer time is with praise and thanksgiving.

Why? The Bible says that God draws near to us when we praise Him. He inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3 KJV)

Praise and thankfulness in prayer are POWERFUL.

Offering God praise takes the focus off ourselves and our problems and places them on God. Our words of praise usher in the authority of God into any given situation.

An old country church’s sign once read, “Don’t tell God how big your mountain is; tell your mountain how big your God is!”

No situation, problem, circumstance, or illness is bigger than God. He is more than enough for EVERY NEED we have. Only He can satisfy and fill us with His peace – peace from heaven. Spending time praising God is essential to keeping our peace in a crisis.

One of the tools that has helped me is my A-Z list. This little tool helped me to get to know God better so that I’m not so overwhelmed when times are hard.

Recently, a KGM Board member decided to create an A-Z list that might be helpful to you. It’s wonderful!

Print this and keep it close. May it remind you to tell your mountains or problems how big your God is!
