“In the same way, let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Our media is full of disconcerting news lately, stories laced with hate, anger, and division and fueled with political agendas vying for our buy-in. In some cases, friends have been driven to foes. While sorting through the barrage of narratives fed to us, it can be easy to begin questioning our beliefs and where we stand or even the fabric of our country.

If you find yourself nodding in agreement, I want to implore you to STOPStop scrolling through news and social media, and pick up your Bible!

The Bible is the Book of Life, filled with biblical truths that help us see more clearly. It will refresh and encourage you.

Consider these simple questions:

  1.  Am I giving God as much of my time and attention as I am giving other sources?
  2.  Am I filling my heart and soul with God’s promises or with the world’s agendas?

Our hearts certainly need encouragement and clarity right now.  When we fill ourselves with the Word of God, we can pour hope into the lives around us. Our families and friends will reap the rewards of our time with God.

Stop looking to the media and influencers for the correct course of action!

Instead of reading what the “keyboard warriors” deem as our necessary course of action or what the YouTubers say, read about the life of Jesus and follow His lead. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with the number of shifting do’s and don’ts of culture. God’s Word never changes!

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” – John 13:35

The same God that commands the oceans and lights the stars created YOU and has a plan for YOUR life. He has gifted you in unique ways and placed you exactly where you are for such a time as this. You can walk boldly in the life God created for you.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10

If you haven’t heard the news, the good guys win!  Let’s walk in VICTORY, my friends because the enemy has been defeated!
