There’s a promise tucked away in the Old Testament that I’ve overlooked a million times.

Maybe you have, too.

It’s easy to miss because there are so many other treasures surrounding it. But one day,
this little verse stopped me in my tracks:

“…your strength will equal your days.” Deuteronomy 33:25

I’ve come back to those words again and again—especially on busy days.

The days when I wonder if I have the strength the day demands. When my to-do list
feels overwhelming. When there is more to do than there are hours to do it. When I’m
fearful that I don’t have what it takes to do all of my jobs well.

On those days, God reminds me: your strength will equal your days.

What a promise!

It doesn’t say my strength will equal everything I think I need to accomplish. It doesn’t
say I’ll have strength for tomorrow, next week, or next year.

It says my strength will equal my days. The day God has given me, He will give me the
strength to live.

The responsibilities He has entrusted to me, He will give me what I need to carry. The
challenges He allows, He will provide sufficient grace for.

God will never give me a day without giving me the strength I need for that day.

That doesn’t mean every day will be easy. Some days will stretch us. Some will exhaust
us. Some will bring things we never expected.

But we don’t have to borrow strength from tomorrow.

We simply need to trust that when tomorrow comes, God’s strength will be there, too.

I love that this verse reminds me that God knows exactly what each day will hold. He
knows what I’ll face before I ever get out of bed. He knows what will require patience,
courage, wisdom, endurance, and grace.

And He will provide what I need.

This verse has become more than a verse I love. It has become something I carry
with me.

It’s one of the verses on our Scripture cards. I tucked the card into my Bible, and it has
become a bookmark in my daily reading.

I have another one sitting in my closet. So, every morning, as I’m getting dressed, I see
it. And it reminds me: God will provide everything I need for this day.

Then I preach a little sermon to myself: I don’t need to be afraid. I don’t need to be
overwhelmed. I don’t need to wonder if I have what it takes.

I can take a deep breath and remember who is going with me into this day.

My strength will equal my days.

Not because I am strong enough. But because He is.

So, whatever today holds for you, take a deep breath. Hold tight to this verse, just as I
am, and believe it by faith: You have enough grace for today.

Enough strength for today.
Enough wisdom for today.
Enough of God for today.

And when tomorrow comes, His strength will meet you there.
