Integrity: Character Counts

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30

The One Woman conference is happening Feb. 29th!  Have you signed up?  Don’t head into March and kick yourself for missing this incredible opportunity for encouragement and fellowship.  Register now!

This year’s theme is Character Counts.  In our culture, it can sometimes seem like character doesn’t matter anymore.  But it does! It matters to God!

One person can make a difference.  And your life matters! When we are believers in Christ Jesus and know God, we want to represent God well.

One characteristic that can often get questioned today is integrity.   Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.  People may think the things they do in secret won’t matter.  If no one sees me, then it can’t hurt or impact anyone else. But we all know that everything we do affects someone.

Character counts!  We see this in our families, our friendships, and every part of our culture.

When my daughters were little, I could see in their playing that they picked up on every mood, heard every word, and saw everything that happened in our home.  How they played babies, spoke to each other, and treated one another correlated to what they observed at home. But we don’t always get it right at home.

We eventually realized that the foundation for teaching integrity and character must come from God’s Word.  God’s Word is the only source that never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His Word is trustworthy.

“For the Word of God is alive and powerful.  It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.  It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”  Hebrews 4:12

We can decide if we are going to be women of integrity and let our “yes be yes” and our “no be no.”  Or we can follow the ways of the world that lead to destruction.

“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.”  Psalms 119:1

“Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” Psalm 34:5

The speakers for One Woman are women of integrity who fear the Lord.  Today’s speaker highlight is Cary, NC resident Cynthia White. Cynthia’s mission is to help women live life by design and not default, with grace and ease.  She teaches women this precept through a simple principle R.E.S.T. – to Reflect and Release Every Situation Totally to God.  Cynthia believes that when women live wholeheartedly and impactfully, things happen for the Kingdom of God.
